Maria Clara Medina received her diploma in classical piano from the Conservatory of Florence under C. Saldicco and in chamber music under Piernarciso Masi at the International Piano Academy (“Incontri con il maestro di Imola”). She perfected her technique studying under V. Berman. She graduated with honors from the University of Florence with a degree in philosophy (Prof. S. Givone) and based her thesis on the many philosophies and theories of music. She has received many first place prizes in various national competitions. She studied at the Salzburg Summer Academy with S.Perticaroli taking part in master-classes by Piernarsciso Masi and Aquiles Delle Vigne. As a soloist and a chamber musician, Maria Clara performs frequently throughout Italy and Europe (Lugano, Trani, Paris, France, Salzburg, Rome etc..). A part from her performing career, she maintains a private studio teaching piano and chamber music. She also organizes concerts, master-classes and seminars on music-teaching methods in addition to a variety of standard music courses. In collaboration with the city of Florence and the state school system, Maria Clara also organizes musical activities and awareness for the young musici.

She graduated with the highest vote in the Cherubini Conservatory in Florence with Renzo Pelli. She achived the Diploma of Advanced Flute and Diploma Master (honorable mention) Chamber Music in duo with piano at the Academy of Imola with the masters Cambursano, Valentini, Masi and Altenberg Trio. She studied with Pretto, Tonelli and Mazzanti. Shi has been part of the Italian Youth Orchestra conducted by Muti, Abbado, Iron, Inbal, Tate and Orchestra of Prato, Grosseto, Lucca, etc.. She play with “Orchestra del Carmine” in Florence.

After completing his diploma at the Conservatoire in Florence, he went on to continue his studies in Switzerland under the guide of C.Klemm, A.Nicolet and A.Jaunet.

As principal flute he has collaborated with numerous Orchestras including the “ORT – Orchestra della Toscana”, the “Carlo Felice” Opera Orchestra of Genova, the MDR Radio – Symphony Orchestra of Liepzig, the Opera Orchestra of Zurich, the Orchestra of “Teatro alla Scala” in Milan, the “Filarmonica A.Toscanini” in Parma and The “Accademia di Santa Cecilia” in Rome.

His commitments as a soloist and chamber musician have led him to perform in some of the most prestigious venues and Festivals worldwide, such as Carnegie Hall (New York), St.John’s Smith Square (London), Wiener Konzerthaus (Wien), Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Ravenna Festival and the Contempory Music Festivals of Strasbourg and Salzburg.

As a member of the “Italian Wind Quintet” he has been on tour to Israel, France, Great Britain and the United States.
Perhaps most importantly is his contribution to the contemporary music scene, where he has given many first performances of works by Berio, Sciarrino, Gentile, Hoffman, Stuppner, Tutino, Cavallari, De Pablo, Donatoni, Luporini and Einaudi.

Presently Marasco teaches at the Istituto Musicale of Modena and the “Associazione Muse Eventi Musicali” in Florence and Rome.
He has recorded for the RAI (Italian radio-tv network), BBC, French National Radio and he has made various CD for Ricordi, Frame, Antes, Arts, Capstone, Nuova Era and Diapason.

In 1999, invited by Luciano Berio and Maurizio Pollini, he performed as soloists in the Salzburg Festival, in 2001 at the Carnegie Hall (New York), in 2002 at the Kioi Hall in Tokyo, in 2003 in Roma at the “Parco della Musica”, in 2006 in Wien at the Wiener Konzerthaus and in Milano at the Teatro alla Scala, in 2009 at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna and in Paris at the Salle Pleyel.

CARMELO MOBILIA – CLARINET

He was born in Malvagna on October 24, 1958 and resides in Florence.

He was graduated in clarinet on 1983 at the State Conservatory Luigi Cherubini of Florence under the guidance of Professor Attilio Zambelli.

He attended the International Chamber Music and Orchestra courses of Pommerssfelden in Germany.

In 1985/86 he attended the summer courses of Riva del Garda, as an actual student of M ° Karl Leister.

He performed the 1st Weber concert with the Regional Orchestra of Tuscany (having won the selection of the graduated students to perform a concert with orchestral accompaniment).

In 1985 he won the audition of a post of second clarinet with the obligation of the first at the Teatro Liglio Symphony Orchestra of Lucca.

It was suitable for two clarinet auditions at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan.

He is classified second suitable for the competition for small clarinet with the obligation of the row at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino theater (chairman of the Zubin Meta commission).

He attended conducting courses with Maestro Piero Bellugi.

Nicoletta Maggino began training as an opera singer at 15 and her interest in teaching in singing boasts thirty years of experience . She completed her musical studies at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole and has attended master classes of renowned opera singers (Gino Bechi, Giuseppe Taddei, Ileana Cotrubas, Walter Blazer, Julia Hamari, Elly Ameling). Nicoletta has performed in numerous concerts around the world, opera performances (Teatro Comunale di Firenze, Teatro La Scala di Milano) and musical competitions. She teaches young opera singers and introduces them to classical repertoire. In addition, Maggino prepares soloists and choruses for auditions in theater and recording performances, concerts, contests, television programs, and opera performances, such as Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Festival dei Due Mondi di Spoleto, and Festival Mozart di Rovereto. Maggino has worked with artists such as Z. Mehta, G. Sinopoli, R. Abbado, S. Osawa, L. Dodin, D. Dorn, C. Saura. She taught opera, gave vocale advice and directed choruses at Scuola di Musica di Fiesole (from 1986 to 2000). In 2000 she began teaching opera and singing-technique at “Scuola di Musica Il Trillo” in Florence. She is a specialist in teaching Bel Canto and has a substantial amout of experience teaching Italian diction to singers from around the world. She holds stable workshops and masterclasses at the Festival Italia Corea. She teaches students from many italian and foreign universities.

Born in Florence, Maria Costanza Nocentini studied with Suzanne Danco and graduated “cum laude” at the G. B. Martini Conservatory of Bologna. After her diploma she took part in a Mozart project managed by Claudio Desderi making her debuts in the roles of Despina in Così fan tutte, Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro and Zerlina in Don Giovanni.

Winner of the 1992 edition of the «Toti Dal Monte» Competition and of the International «Viotti» Competition 1992 in Vercelli, Maria Costanza Nocentini has also received a special prize for the best Rossini interpretation and the special «Miguel Cervantes» prize at the «Francesco Viñas» Competition 1992 in Barcelona.

Since her debuts, Maria Costanza Nocentini has been invited by some of the most important theatrical institutions in Italy (Teatro alla Scala, Teatro Regio di Torino, Teatro Valli di Reggio Emilia, Teatro di San Carlo di Napoli, Teatro Regio di Parma, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, Teatro Comunale di Firenze, Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova, Teatro Verdi di Trieste, Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Spoleto Festival, Festival of Martina Franca, Festival of Cremona), and abroad (among them, the Théâtre des Champs Elysées, New Israeli Opera, Salzburg Festival, Bayerischer Staatsoper, Teatro Municipal in Santiago, Chile, Wiener Staatsoper, Scottish Opera of Glasgow, Opéra de Nice, Teatro de La Maestranza in Seville, Glyndebourne Festival Opera, Tokyo Japan Opera Foundation, New Zealand Opera,Opernahus in Zurich, Stockholm Royal Opera, Malmoe Opera).

Her discography includes Le convenienze ed inconvenienze teatrali recorded for Ricordi, La princesse jaune by Saint-Saëns for Chandos, and Mercadante’s Emma d’Antiochia on the Opera Rara label.

From February 2012 she started to be singing teacher at the Conservatory of Music “G. Verdi” in Como, than “ F. Venezze” in Rovigo, “G. Martucci” in Salerno and currently in Modena at “Vecchi-Tonelli”.
